Please Help Finalize His Adoption

In April of 2018, our lives received the most magical blessing and beautiful challenge we could have ever experienced in our lives. We are a military family, married for 23 wonderful, growing, adventurous, sometimes "trying," and stressful years. We have 3 biological children of our own, ages 3, 15, 19, and are currently already in the process of adopting a 4 year old daughter. We received a phone call that a mutual friend of our family, that we had both grown up with, had been permanently injured in a domestic violence situation with a traumatic brain injury, the child was placed in foster care at 10 months old for 2 years, moved from home to home, he then went to live with his only living relative, an older aunt, and that she had also fallen ill, and could no longer care for the child. She asked us to please take this baby and provide him a forever home. We gladly opened our hearts, home, and family for him, we did not want him to return to the foster care system with nowhere else to go. We had never met Jaecee before the day we gained possession of him. He is extremely tiny, he will be 4 years old very soon, he shockingly weighs only 25 lbs. The environmental instability in his early life has led him to become a failure to thrive, and he suffers from severe reactive attachment disorder, and anxiety, along with other physical medical conditions. We are trying, we are challenged, hopeful, and are winning his battles. We have the child covered on our medical and dental insurance now. It was a long process for him to legally become our military dependent. We have spent thousands of dollars on legal processes that have taken almost 6 months to complete, but he is now ours under a full custody order. Our next step is adoption! We have spoken to an attorney to begin the adoption process, but we are still falling financially short from the unexpected expenses of a 2nd child adoption process and its causing a huge delay. I promised the child's biomother and aunt that this baby will never leave our home, he will be with us forever, and he will never be moved again. We will do whatever it takes to give him the stability, love, patience, care, counseling, and medical treatment he needs to receive. We will provide the ideal environment he needs to thrive and become the best version of a little human that he can be. We have considered adoption grants, but due to the unconventional way Jaecee came to be part of the family, we do not qualify for any help or assistance. This child basically became ours via the legal system and mutually agreed upon arrangements, so we didn't have to conduct any home studies for him, which also disqualifies us since its a "private," "domestic," "fictive kin" non-relation adoption. I am pleading for help, and I never have before, but this is important, and timing is essential. His biological family can not assist us due to being poverty stricken, and the burden of adoption fees is overwhelming for a 1 income large military family. Please help if you can, anything does. He is a delightful child, and we are eager to finalize in making him ours forever. He was our grand surprise, we never intended or planned for, but those are the BEST kind of surprises, and we gladly welcome him with love, care, and concern, we just need a little help along the way.Thank you for listening, thank you for caring, and thank you for helping if you can.
