Create Cures Faster


Hello, I'm Bob Stewart, husband to Alison, father, step-father, grandfather, and parallel entrepreneur.  I'm also a Member of the Board of Directors & Chief Technology Officer pro bono at the Alliance for Clinical Research Excellence and Safety. 

Please join me on a journey to fully realize the potentials by creating a system for the legal integration of both genetic and historic medical records to facilitate a future where artificial intelligence can safely and ethically accelerate the finding, creation, and delivery of cures using precision functionally restorative medical therapies.

A humble lift...

It's a humbling experience to ask friends and people in society for help, yet that is a lesson God has for me at this stage of my development as a man.  Conservatively raised, asking others for any kind of financial assistance was long ingrained in me as somehow 'bad' or at the very least 'unmanly' and that "Good people don't do that, they don't make excuses, they pull themselves up by their bootstraps and soldier on...".  

So that's exactly what for the most part I've tried to do for my entire life, yet as of late it hasn't seemed to go as well as planned.  Yet the eternal optimism I sometimes feel cursed with, has now met it's proverbial match being reality, and that has me on my knees asking God (and in turn you) for some help.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. - For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." - Jesus in Matthew 7:7-8


The breakdown...

"Ask and it will be given to you..."

I asked for the love and blessings of a big family and that I may be used to His service while here on this Earth...

I received a loving relationship with Him and my wife of 14 years Alison, all of our blended nine children, Keeper, Cherish, Belle, Paisley, Taylor, Paige, Justice, Robert Jr, and Maxwell, and now all of our grand children, Isaiah, Maddox, and Eowyn.  Not to mention our blessings of friends and extended family including our parents (all still alive) and siblings too, Christopher, Jennifer, Jill, Rachael and Alexander "Sandy" (deceased).

"Seek and you will find..."

I sought a path to find actual cures for cancer, a gift laid upon my heart at the age of twelve when Sandy died, soon after a long fought civil war with cancer at the tender age of nine. 

I found computer technology later that very same year (1978), in a seventh grade classroom line printer terminal, a love of all things digital that began with BASIC programming on a DEC PDP-8/E in Kennebunkport's Consolidated School in Maine.  Computers were something I could control, and indeed master.

"Knock and the door will be opened to you."

I knocked over every obstacle to build a career path using technology for the past forty years, I'm now 54 and find myself, even here and now, envisioning and creating computing platforms to deliver on the promise to use my talents to find those cures and spare others in this life from the pain of avoidable losses.

I opened my mind and my network of professional contacts past and present, I embarked on a journey to fully realize the potentials by creating a system for the legal integration of both genetic and historic medical records to facilitate a future where artificial intelligence can safely and ethically accelerate the finding, creation, and delivery of cures using precision functionally restorative medical therapies.


Faith and Fiery Darts

"In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." - Ephesians 6:16

The monies being raised here are going to be used to tend to the vines of the garden of life (our present) and ensure that good fruits (our children) become of all that we are and the talents which have been given.


So I'm humbly asking you to carefully consider supporting me and my family on this journey.  We have been extraordinarily blessed to have received the support of so many in these endeavors already, but now realize that the very system in which we have begun to build these solutions, is itself, corrupt at it's core, in its focus on profits above all else.  "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." - 1 Timothy 6:10

I founded Exochain.com as a Public Benefit Corporation, which now holds valuable exclusive contracts and intellectual property including key blockchain solutions necessary to deliver patient and market solutions.  However, Exochain, as a nascent startup, got caught up in the bursting bubble of the crypto-economy, ran out of cash, and is even now still, awaiting additional investment from a Private Equity firm on favorable terms to prevent any possibility of experiencing a loss-of-control. This is imperative for several reasons which I will endeavor to explain further below in more detail.

The system is clearly at odds with itself...

THE PROBLEM:

While capitalism, God bless America, has it's strengths, in the area of medical research, demonstrable conflicts of interest are intrinsic to the obligations of fiduciary responsibility of a for-profit entity.  Which, by it's very nature and design, is almost exclusively geared toward returning value (money) to already wealthy accredited shareholders.

In the case of serving all of mankind, globally, without regard to artificial and inhibiting constructs such as race, color, creed, sex, ancestry, religion, nor historical animus causing cultural separations, including borders and nationalism. Any mission to find cures for all peoples, most especially the vulnerable subjects comprising the underclass, is in conflict with the broken system which demand drug profits from customers (patients) that in many cases and parts of the world can't even afford food let alone medicine.

Worse yet, the drug development industry directly and indirectly kills hundreds of thousands of patients each year and is immune to most of the liability under the ruse (as if a patient has a choice) of “informed” consent.

The drug development process on average takes upwards of 15 years, five years in research, then ten years in trials, leaving a short five years to earn back the investment of billions and make all of the profits back before the patents expire and the drug becomes generic.

Therefore, any generically available drug is by nature 20-25 years behind the state-of-the-art in medical research, which, given the exponential pace of mankind's technologically driven life-sciences learnings, is easily over 100 man-years of progress behind what is actually possible today! 

This is such a broken system, made worse yet by privileged access to the wealthy and falling even further behind every day due to the fact that the current paths of automation of the drug industry today are automating a broken system which, in turn, only breaks things faster -  widening the gap between the have and have nots the sick and the well, the rich and the poor.

Now, compound this with cut-throat competition, quarterly earnings pressures, and a litigious society, it is no wonder the pharmaceutical companies only want long term customers, there’s just no recurring revenue in cures.

Lastly, pathetically today over 90% of all trials first target peoples of Northern European descent, people of color, Asians, Africans, Hispanics, Middle Eastern and others are quite literally left out until mandated for inclusion in later stages of clinical trials. That’s real white privileged bias, institutionalized.

Worse yet, nearly every pharmaceutical company is competing for the same markets, using the same patient populations, from the same race of people, within the same geographic areas!  It should come as no surprise that an underbelly of opportunists disguised as patient recruiters now collect hundreds of thousands of dollars in bounties from research sponsors just to find these increasingly scarce resources called patients in geographically dense enough areas to justify the expenses involved in establishing a clinical trial site at all.

What makes matters even worse is the fact that at those trial sites less than 20% of all data collected is collected by what by any measure would be considered a good performing clinical trial site. That right, over 80% of all clinical trial sites are considered poor performing and their data is all too often unusable due to a lack of standards and abject failures of management and data collection practices mandated by regulatory compliance for inclusion in final results.

Lastly remember that it is all actually TWICE as worse than this, as due to the strict adherence of conducting trials with a double blind study, literally only half of any and all participants actually even receive the drug, the rest get “sugar pills” known as placebos!

THE REACTION:

This requires a new way of thinking, a grass-roots solution for those least able to effect the same, the sick and the poor, and there is a way to fix it!

This is why I both personally and professionally, funded the initial development of the first ever Quality Continuum Standard for the Quality Management of Clinical Research Sites: ACRES-QC S001.


Endorsed by the New England Journal of Medicine , this new standard is the life-science's equivalent of the same types of standards that fundamentally transformed the safety record of the entire global airline industry with mandatory reporting of all discovered flaws in aircraft, which transformed flight into the safest form of travel possible.

THE SOLUTION:

Envision with me a future where the state-of-the-art in life-sciences is at parity with the state-of-the-art in healthcare. To do this one must obsolete the entrenched development delivery systems as they can not change the fabric of greed by which it they are supported and in which they are wrapped up in.


I know what I am doing, long before blockchain, I planned and developed the open-sourced CyberMedica system, an immutable-data, platform to safely accelerate life-science research from inception, through funding, through regulatory oversight, through clinical trials, and peer-review.

Rich or poor, there is intrinsic value contained inside every being it exists in the form of the wealth of information including ones personal DNA and their ancestral genetic (genotypical) information.  Which, when indexed with ones (phenotypical) expression data such as skin, hair and eye color and ones ever changing biometric data such as weight, height, and add ongoing sentiment data (how they're feeling) all combine to create an incredible opportunity for both the researcher working on the future of precision medicine, and, the patient population seeking solutions for themselves, their children, and their grandchildren and generations beyond.

Looking ahead, artificial intelligence is likely the natural evolution of mankind's analytical capabilities and therefore likely to become the only mechanism even capable of understanding the 10 to the 80th power complexity that is human DNA let alone the complexity of multiplying this by the nearly 8 billion unique beings inhabiting our planet.  What a wonderful abundant market of hopeful beneficiaries.  That's how we stop terror!

Our mission is to create missing fundamental and foundational systemic infrastructures necessary to facilitate science in such a world where disease and it's trauma can be a thing of the past.  A convergence of technologies that enforce the truth as it is then known, such as blockchain, are needed to advance sciences under a new paradigm of good merit for the benefit of all, even the least of us, rather than just the few, at our current collective expense.
