The Fashion Driven Truck: New Truck

Donation protected
WHO:
Thanks for visiting my campaign! My name is Mone't and I operate The Fashion Driven Truck, L.A.'s 1st Black Owned Mobile Boutique on Wheels! "Orange Bang" as she is affectionately called, is a 1979 22-foot bread truck that has been renovated to house 16 feet of retail space, more commonly known as a "fashion truck."

WHAT:
I have invested much of my life and finances into my business and am now turning to friends, family and supporters for help. My truck recently died and the costs to repair it are astronomical.  I've decided it best at this time to put my 36 year-old truck to rest and get a newer one. This has left me out of business for the time being as I work to get a new truck. Help me continue to bring a unique shopping experience to L.A. and surrounding cities with the peace of mind that only sound mechanical transportation can provide.

Starting a business as a solo entity has been quite a task and has often forced me to cut corners to keep the truck running and the business going. I've endured roadside strands, engine/transmission issues, a leaky roof, rust and overheating, lack of air/heat or even lights that stay on! I am no stranger to vending in the dark. I'm just that driven! In all, I have managed to successfully remain both in good spirits and in business for almost 2 years, never once considering throwing in the towel. Phew. It's HARD starting your own business! But quick wit and determination have helped me get through it all.

WHY:
I have commited to also give back by donating a percentage of funds raised to MVT "Project Prom" in support of their efforts to send local highschool kids to prom in style.

Please take a moment and experience my story through pictures that have been carefully selected to highlight the journey of a girl and her truck; The Fashion Driven Truck. Start by scrolling to the bottom of the page then back up to better understand "our journey."

Thank you in advance for your contribution in any amount to help us get back on the road. -Mone't L. #enTruckpreneur & Owner/Operator, The Fashion Driven Truck

Had to have the truck towed because smoke was everywhere, yikes! The costs for repairs at this point are astronomical and without guarantee that something else won't just, well fall off. :(

The journey has certainly not been without its fair share of mechanical woes.

As a business owner, one can never been too timid to get a little dirty from time-to-time.

Pondering the gravity of the feat that's before me, accepting that the possible is always possible.

And quickly expanded to what would become, The Fashion Driven Truck.
