Fashion Show in aid of Cameroon

In November 2018, RippleZoo went to Cameroon with 12 volunteers. Thanks to all of YOU and the generous donations through out the year we managed to achieve the following:
90 young primary school students will be taught today in clean and beautifully painted classrooms and for the first time in their life will have a set of school books that will help to improve their ability to learn. 3 more classrooms are considerably enhanced.
The community of Batoufan (12,000+ people) have an advanced learning computer room, complete with internet access that will provide them both education and business opportunities.
Hundreds of orphans have new clothes, and many a small present to open on Christmas day.
A hospital has running water, toilets, showers and considerably improved sanitation conditions. Less people will die and/or need to endure inhumane conditions. I believe a baby lives today because we were there.
2 hospitals received medical supplies, medicine, new beds.
And most importantly, many hundreds if not thousands of Cameroonian people who suffer terribly and have little hope of escaping extreme poverty now know that there are people outside of their little world who love and care for them. That in itself is a wonderful gift we have given.
THERE IS STILL MUCH TO BE DONE! RippleZoo will go back to Cameroon and the village of Batoufam in November 2019.
Our key challanges for 2019 are finishing off the refurbishment of 3 classrooms that we started working on last year. We will build a toilet block to imporove sanitation for boys and girls attending the school. We also plan to enhance the classrooms by new supplies such as new blackboards, shelving etc. A big goal is to install solar panels which will enable the school to run evening classes but also connect computers.
