Kolby's Needs Surgery

My daughter and I were having a great time in the fields at Folsom lake.  We decided to check out the ruins.  Since the lake was low we were able to access an old bridge that is usually underwater.  The bridge had two side rails but because when the water was lowering dirt started piling up on one side.  Kolby, unknowingly run up the dirt side thinking there was dirt on the other and ended up falling about 30 feet onto rocks.  It happened so fast!

It took 30 minutes to get from where we were to the Animal Hospital.  I thought we were losing him on the drive.  My daughter is devastated by the event.  Trying to keep my cool I rushed him to the emergency Vet and they started IV fluids and Oxygen. 

He was in a state of Shock...X-rays reveled no broken bones however he was suffering from internal bleeding.  He was under 24 hour blood checks, IV fluids, antibiotics and monitoring.  24 hours went by and he survived the fall.  However, it was reviled that he blew out both hind knee joints.  The total damage is uncertain for now.  He cannot walk, and the Vet feels that without surgical intervention his recovery looks grim.  The total estimate I was given for surgical intervention is from 3,500-7,000 dollars.  They will not know the total cost until they start the surgery. The vet believes that if we do not get his ACL and Meniscuses repaired soon he will have osteoarthritis in the next 2weeks to a month.
 
Currently, He is on bed rest.  We are feeding him Pain meds, an anti-inflammatory and Glucosamine.  He cannot have any surgery until the internal injuries have cleared.  So we are on a holding pattern.  Unfortunately we are also unable to afford a possible 7,000 dollar surgical bill.  I am at a loss on what to do.  We lost 2 dogs already this year and this one is my daughters.  His mind and front half of his body wants to play and interact, but the back half is disabled.  Please help by donating whatever you feel is in your heart to help us provide the necessary surgery for a full recovery.
