FarmerJawn has provided the opportunity to do just that. FarmerJawn  began as a vision to provide farm-fresh, nutrient dense, chemical-free food to the community. That vision manifested into a 10-person CSA growing on 1000 sq ft in Northwest Philly to now sitting on a 1-acre property with 40,000 sq ft of greenhouses and a bounty of potential to feed a city. This spring and summer, we were met with an outpour of support from the entire Philly metropolitan and beyond. That's because our vision was heard loud and clear and it was felt by the hearts of many.

With this beautiful space, we have the opportunity to end food insecurity in and around Philadelphia, drastically decrease food waste, and educate our city on how to grow food and how to do so organically and regeneratively. We can make real change happen here. Our goal to grow all year long providing for the community has been met with the difficulty of the cold climate. We knew this was coming and anticipated being able to simply turn the heat on, that is not the case. Although our goal is to one day own the greenhouses, we currently do not so we lack control where big repairs are concerned due to lack of funds. There is a real struggle of dealing with the challenges of no heat through the winter since in order for us to be sustainable that requires us to grow. We have lost many crops and plants due to the cold temperatures so far and though all that is true we still have financial obligations and rent to pay and we cannot.  The community, our members, the FarmerJawn team...we have all invested so much and we don't want to see those efforts be for nothing, We want to stay in this space and we need your help to make it to the Spring when we can reset and begin to grow again. We appreciate any and all your assistance. We know together, we can get through this rough patch for the betterment of us all. Thank You!
