Tierra y Fuego (Earth and Fire) Taqueria; that is the name of our forthcoming Taqueria, or "taco shop" as you would say in English. Our target opening date is first Week of March, 2018. The Beginning: A Dream Harvested
The Diaz Family started bio-dynamically growing most of their food on their own land to provide the most healthy and nutritious food possible for Mom, Dad and their four children. Our crops were so abundant and delicious that the idea was born to create an urban farm to provide high quality and all-natural vegetables to the surrounding community. The Diaz Farm was officially born in 2014 in Boulder Colorado. The wellbeing of the families in our community are always at the heart of everything we do. We believe that one way to love people is to love and care for the land that feeds them, and to provide healthy and delicious food. We started a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program in 2015 with 20 members. In 2016 we had 40 members and in 2017 our community grew to 60 members. All along, our farm has really been built not only by us, but by our community. 2018 will be an exciting year!

Coming Full Circle with Food
Besides having a passion for growing vegetables and baking delicious sourdough bread, we also have a passion for cooking food, specially Latin and Mexican Food. To us, "coming food circle with food" means being the farmers and the cooks all at once, but it doesn't stop there. The last component is sharing with others, with people like you, only then is the circle complete. The experience of growing vegetables and learning to cook with them has allowed us to become very intimate with food. It really takes the culinary experience to a whole new level of deliciousness, especially when it is shared with neighbors!
Help Us Celebrate Local Food
Help us launch our Farm to Plate Food Truck and become part of our farm community. If you are in Boulder, CO, you will be able to enjoy the fruits of your contribution for a whole season, and for many years to come. You will also help to make healthy and delicious food available to your friends and neighbors!

How the Funds Will Be Used
Our food trailer needs some work. We'll have to redo the artwork and lettering to become the perfect home for Tierra y Fuego Taqueria. However, most of the work needed is on the inside. We need to clean and repair the appliances and we need to install a new floor and new plumbing. We will be doing most of the labor ourselves, but some of the funds will be used to buy materials and to pay for specialized labor if needed. We also need to pay all applicable county and state fees for the appropriate permits. Part of the requirements is that we rent commissary kitchen space to perform some of the food prep and utensil cleaning as required by the health department. We'll also need to outfit the trailer with any missing equipment and supplies. Since the food truck will be tied to the farm operations, some of the funds will go towards increasing production of vegetables and setting up a grass-fed meat chicken program. Finally, we'll need to hire at least one employee to help with the day-to-day operations of the farm and food truck. Thank you for becoming a community builder and local food supporter!
