Farewell to my dreads for MS

Donation protected
Hi I’m Jeremy Bouwmeester, or as most people know me, Jezza!

I have been growing my 1 meter dreads for almost a decade...
To mark the upcoming 10 year anniversary of having these “luscious locks” (a labor of love) I am now ready to bid farewell to them and transform myself with a fresh new look. I will be doing this all in the name of a charitable cause, Research for Multiple Sclerosis- Kiss goodbye to MS.

I have some special friends experiencing the impact this condition can have on lives and feel it would be anti-climatic to cut them off at home given I have always wanted to donate to a charity and/or raise money for a cause and figure let’s make an event out of it!

The Event:
On Saturday the 24th of March 2018 I will be preparing myself to remove my much loved dreads. The event will be held at Prattys Patch beginning at 5pm- the big cut time TBC. There will be an auction with local businesses having donated an array of items (event in early days- pls advise admin if any businesses are keen to take part) with all fundraising proceeds going to MS Research Australia. - Kiss goodbye to MS.

What is MS?

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system, interfering with nerve impulses within the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. It is characterised by sclerosis a Greek word meaning scars. These scars occur within the central nervous system and depending on where they develop, manifest into various symptoms.
MS affects over 23,000 in Australia and more than two million diagnosed worldwide. Most people are diagnosed between the ages of 20-40, but it can affect younger and older people too. Roughly three times as many women have MS as men.
There is currently no known cure for MS however there are a number of treatment options available to help manage symptoms and slow progression of the disease.
