Farewell Baby Rylen
Matt and Sharnee have always dreamt of having kids of their own, and on September 24th 2019, Sharnee and Matt welcomed their first beautiful little boy Rylen into the world. Rylen was one in 700 babies to be born with a cleft palate. With a smile to light up the room Rylen was due to face many surgeries to fix his cleft palate, with his first surgery in January this year.
Despite the challenges Sharnee, Matt & Rylen have faced, they couldn’t have been more blessed with a happier little soldier.
Rylen went in for his second surgery on Monday the 27th July, for his palate repair and ears which would help improve his eating and speech.
This was a standard procedure and was successful, however on Tuesday unfortunately things took a turn for the worst, He went into cardiac arrest and required CPR to then be placed on life support. out of the surgeons 30 years experience he has had with palate repairs Rylen is the second child that has responded this way after.
After multiple days on life support and praying things got better, Matt and sharnee were advised to call loved ones to come say their goodbyes before beatiful little Rylen grew his wings.
Matt and Sharnee never in their wildest dreams expected to be leaving the Brisbane children’s hospital without their 10 month old little soldier.
Matt and Sharnee also have full time care of Sharnees niece Olivia, and nephew Dylan.
As they now face the challenges of living life without their baby boy, they also face the ongoing financial and emotional heart break. They now have to lay him to rest and have time to grieve.
We want to support this beautiful young family and by coming together we hope to help relieve many of the costs and challenges they are due to face in the near and coming future.
