In 2018, a corporate volunteer visited FareShare and was touched by their work. He decided to walk from Ballarat to Bendigo to raise money for FareShare. <br /><br />In 2019, the same track is being undertaken. This time as a group - over 5 days and 200kms in a Victorian winter. Please support to any level you are able. FareShare simply does an amazing job. All the money raised will go towards FareShare. With your support they can continue to cook surplus food into free, healthy meals for people in need.<br /><br />FareShare is a charity kitchen. They use food that is otherwise destined for landfill to cook free, nutritious meals for vulnerable people. FareShare rescues food from supermarkets, farmers and manufacturers, and supplements this with vegetables grown in their kitchen gardens, to cook 1.5 million meals a year in Melbourne. They utilise a team of 900 regular volunteers, along with 6,000 school and corporate volunteers a year, to rescue, grow and cook healthy meals which are delivered for free to people seeking food assistance.
