Urgent Truck Repair

Donation protected
I need help, life is too short for humility and the bitter taste of crow to stop us from our goals or asking others to help.  Both self inflicted ( mainly) and unforeseen circumstances have piled on and after meeting with a dear friend today I have come to the indisputable conclusion I need to ask for help. Meeting with him and his encouraging words gave me both hope and reminded me of my tenacity and obligation to being authentic. My truck is broke down and I desperately need it.

The back story....My daughter, Iris and I have been camping on our land all through the covid  pandemic. I have been working day and night to complete our cabin before cold weather and have completely exhausted every resource I have.  Though I have had most of the materials we needed to complete the cabin we are not quite enclosed and ready for the cold.  Honestly we have a long way to go.  The land is co-owned as of today but there is a portion of the property that includes the farm house that is under contract and scheduled to close soon.  When this happens I will not be getting any of the proceeds as the other co-owners will but, I will have an unencumbered deed to the remaining 20 acres, which is where our cabin is located.  The bigger plan is to seek a mortgage on the land to hasten the completion of the cabin and clean up the situation once this occurs.  I have learned not to presume any real estate deal will happen until it does.  Though I am actively looking for a private mortgage now in hopes the deal will happen as planned.

Why the need....I desperately need and want to work,  I have jobs lined up and ready for my attention.  Unfortunately I am in such an embarrassingly dire financial moment that since my truck broke down a few weeks ago I have been stuck.  I don’t have the money to fix it. Though I would rather be using this platform to find a mortgage, getting my truck fixed is more urgent.  I am able to earn an income off the farm but I am stuck with out my truck.  Getting my truck fixed allows me to help my self to complete our home and move forward in life.

What the money will be used for......There are two repair issues that need to be addressed to get my truck running.  Both of them are beyond my humble mechanical aptitude.  #1 the starter needs to be replaced, though the starter itself is relatively cheap it is located in a very hard place to get to, both youtube and the mechanic I want to use indicate it is is a 5-6 hour job = expensive.  The estimate I got today was $650 for the starter replacement.  #2 the left rear leaf spring has broke though the truck can run it is not safe to carry a load and I would rather not take any risk because I use the truck to carry Iris and materials for work.  The estimate to repair this is $550.  And I will need to get it towed and that estimate was $80.

The Goal......I am trying to raise $1300 to cover all the cost and I need to do it as fast as possible so I can get back to work.  The Mechanic said he could fix it next week, the last week in September.

Hope for the future.....This fund raising is a beginning to a larger plan to get me up and out of the precarious situation I am in.  I am looking for a private investor to finance a very low loan to value, first position mortgage on the 20 acres.
