<div>Fanindra Nath Bose (1888–1926) was a visionary. As one of the

<div>first Indian sculptors to achieve international acclaim in the early

<div>20th century, he bridged the gap between Eastern soul and
</div>
<div>Western classical technique. His work was admired by royalty and
</div>
<div>fellow artists alike, yet today, his final resting place remains
</div>
<div>largely unmarked and forgotten.

<div>We are raising funds to design, carve, and install a permanent
</div>
<div>memorial headstone for Bose in Scotland, ensuring his
</div>
<div>contribution to global art history is never erased.
</div>

<div><strong>Why This Matters</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>Born in Bengal, Bose moved to Europe to master his craft,
</div>
<div>eventually settling in Scotland. He was an Associate of the Royal
</div>
<div>Scottish Academy—a rare feat for an Indian artist at the time. His
</div>
<div>bronze works are known for their incredible anatomical precision
</div>
<div>and emotional depth, yet he died young, at just 38, leaving behind a legacy that has slipped through the cracks of time.

<div>Currently, his grave lacks a proper monument. We believe that a
</div>
<div>man who spent his life carving beauty out of stone deserves a
</div>
<div>stone of his own to mark his place in history.

</div>
<div>We aren't just looking for a simple slab. Our goal is to commission
</div>
<div>a memorial that reflects Bose’s own aesthetic—elegant,
</div>
<div>timeless, and culturally significant.
</div>
<div>• The Design: A bespoke headstone featuring motifs reflecting
</div>
<div>his artistic talents.
</div>
<div>• The Location: His resting place in Edinburgh, where he spent
</div>
<div>his most productive years. He rests in Liberton Cemetery.
</div>
<div>• The Impact: Providing a site of pilgrimage for art historians,
</div>
<div>students, and the British-Indian community.

<div>1. Professional Stonemasonry: Crafting the headstone from
</div>
<div>high-quality, weather-resistant black granite sourced in his
</div>
<div>native India and red granite from his adopted Scotland.
</div>
<div>2. Permits &amp;amp; Fees: Coordination with local council and cemetery
</div>
<div>authorities.
</div>
<div>3. A Dedication Ceremony: A small public event to unveil the
</div>
<div>stone and celebrate Bose’s life and work.
</div>
