FAMILY'S HOME LOST BY FIRE - WE CAN HELP

I attended the Portland Connecticut High School championship baseball game 10 days ago and watched as they won the state title, 8-0.  During the game, I said hi to a mom, whose son was playing that day and congratulated her on such a great game that her son was playing.  I know this family because the dad coached my son in Little League, mom and both grandmothers would faithfully attend each game and they would also host the end of the season party, at their home.  They were always so kind to the kids and to us, their parents.  I took particular notice of their relationship with their moms, as they were so close, just like I was with my mom and dad.  As a matter of fact, one of the grandmothers lives with the family.  Since my son no longer plays ball, I don't see them as much.  But, I did see them at this championship game, cheering for their son.  I was to possibly see them again yesterday, at our Portland High School's graduation, as we both had children graduating.  As my son was heading out to go swimming at a friends before graduation, he was sent a text from this friend, saying that there was a terrible fire in town.  A photo was attached and I recognized the home right away.  It was the home of this family.  What was to be a great evening, suddenly turned into a day of sadness for them.  They are all safe but have lost their home.  We always wonder what we would do in a situation like this, but it is such a tremendous and shocking loss that we will never know.  I saw mom, dad and both grandmothers yesterday evening, believe it or not, at graduation.  They were there, like every baseball and hockey game that they have attended for their two sons, cheering him on.  Their son was in the front row, in his cap and gown, and graduated with his class.  Let's help this family get back on their feet.  Thank you. -Jill-
