Hi, we are a family of 5 that moved into a rental this past April. We were told by the landlord that he was going to fix some things as we lived here. We have had nothing but issues since. I’m in tears every day trying to figure out how to get my kids into a better living environment. We have full time jobs, but it’s been a struggle living paycheck to paycheck already as high as prices are.

the roof leaks, as you can see in the pictures, there is mold growing up the walls, the roof is falling down in many areas of the kitchen, there is a water pipe leaking that we can’t get to because it’s under the cabinets and floor which is causing the kitchen floor to rot and sink in. I have reported all this numerous of times when we moved in and reminded him throughout the time of being here. I can’t keep getting threatened with being told to move because he doesn’t want to fix anything and have no where to go with our three young kids. Never been in this situation before as we lived in a nice place for years. We usually don’t mind maintaining a lot on our own but these are big problems.

We have reached out to get help but make too much for it. Along with reporting this to the city and other places in which they said he will have to repair but won’t be here until January to inspect and may have to condemn the place which again, leaves us in a place where we have no where to go.

I am trying to raise funds so we can move. I’m usually the one who really loves to help others and kids especially. But this year, I am just asking to help my kids. It’s not only safety concerns but health concerns too with it as my oldest wakes up miserable every day breathing who knows what in and now my other two along with my husband and myself are showing signs.

it is sad to pay this much and landlords have many rights.

anything helps. Even a share. This is mostly what my kids want too even for Christmas.
