Help For My St. Maarten Family

It’s with a heavy heart that I am pleading for my families located on the devastated island of St. Maarten which experienced the wrath of a direct impact of Cat 5 hurricane Irma. The members of my immediate family include my parents, brother, his wife, 3 year old son and infant son that was born on September 1st. My sister, her husband and their 3 children. My grandmother as well as extended family. Uncles and cousins that are too numerous to mention. The strength and severity of this storm was nothing these islanders have ever seen. The devastation is often described to be as catastrophic as Hiroshima. Their homes are lost and they have NO food, drinking water or fuel. As military personnel try their best to take control, these next few weeks, possibly months will be extremely difficult. Communication is extremely scarce and the situation on the island is in total anarchy with the daily threat of looters attacking homes and threatening families that are already left with nothing. Whatever is left to salvage and save are being robbed and taken by looters. Due to this immediate need to evacuate American's and people with medical conditions such as dialysis patients etc., the locals left on the island are at risk of starvation and lack of supplies. The funds raised are for just that. Much needed water, food, clothing, diapers, formula, toothbrushes, shoes and other basic necessities as they try to rebuild their lives as well as their homes.
