The Creator & our ancestors want us to bask in love and care—it is our birthright! To thrive in health, feel boundless joy, lasting connections, and beloved community!
Yet, around us every day, families are holding an incredible burden to keep up with rising utility prices, make their bills, survive this era of war, hate, and exploitation. Generational cycles of trauma, state violence, bad policy, and greed mongers have working parents struggling more than ever and barely making ends meet.
The Goddess of the River is always conspiring for our well-being—and on Saturday, May 23 from 1-8pm—she surrounds us on Governor’s Island in NYC to hear our prayer for love, hope, and fortified families!
Join NYC’s leading Afro-diasporic roots bands—drummers, healers, artisans, singers, and dancers—for a Family Unity Day! A declaration of love, protection, and unity!
Through Bomba, Plena, Palos, Rara, and turnt up Afro-Haitian House—we remember what it is like to dance as one, to celebrate and call ourselves back to ourselves, to link energy with our ancestors who have always prayed for our safety, joy, and victory.
From artisan and healer tables to love up on yourself, auntie and the kids, to open lawn for spreading your blanket and lounging on the earth, to complimentary Latin food from Havana Cafe and Barrio Bx—come enjoy a chillaxing day to dance, celebrate, and pour love into yourself and your family—our foundation for longevity and community!
Support our fundraiser to resource the various drum and dance groups, healers, and artists who are donating their time.
