Army Family Suffering From Tragedy

On July 26 2018, around midnight an active Army solider and his family were pulled over on the shoulder of I-20 in Kilgore Tx headed to Alabama from El Paso Tx to visit family after receiving 14 days of leave. Someone came behind them and struck their vehicle from the rear. In the back seat sat a two year old little boy and a nine month old baby girl in car seats. The two year old little boy was life flighted from the scene in critical condition. The mother, father and nine month old baby girl were transported to a local hospital where the mother and father would be discharged a few hours later in stable condition. The 9 month old was later life flighted from the local hospital to LSU Hospital in Shreveport to be joined with her brother. The family did not have any family near by that could assist them since they were from out of town. They had no money, no car, no wallet, and the mother did not even have shoes on her feet. This weighed very heavy on my heart so I offered to drive them in my vehicle since they had no means of transportation at 5am this morning so they could be with their children in Shreveport. The two year old is still in critical condition and is not expected to make it through the night. The nine month old is now stable and is planned to recover! 

Our heart break for this family who’s world has been turned upside down! I am asking for any little bit that can help with a rental car,  medical expenses, food, hotel rooms and anything else they may need! I ask that you please say an extra prayer for this family today as they will need it today and for the days to come!!! God Bless!

UPDATE 7/27: After visiting and speaking with the family today, they once again want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and kindness they’ve received from everyone. I know everyone is wanting to help and wanting to know the names of the family but due to continuing to give them some privacy as they are still in the hospital I am going to continue not to use names so they and the hospital staff are not overwhelmed right now. The nine month old baby girl is still stable per family and are hoping to go home soon. Unfortunately, the two year old little boy went to be with God yesterday! Please keep this family in your prayers as they will surely need them!! Y’all have been amazing!! I ask that we try to raise more money now to help with the funeral expenses!!! God Bless
