Gimbl Family Seeking Help After Drunk Driver Destroys Home

On Thursday November 28, 2024, a neighbor drove into our apartment kitchen, completely destroying our home and Thanksgiving. I had just walked out of the kitchen to check on my 5-year-old son. Had I not, who knows what could have happened. I am currently 37 weeks pregnant. It’s my son, my boyfriend, and I who live in the apartment currently. We are expecting a daughter on 01/20/2024.

We had to live in a hotel from 11/28/24 – 12/06/24 and cover all costs/expenses out of pocket. I’m currently pregnant and doing my best to stay calm during this difficult time. Anything helps. Anything. Our apartment was deemed unlivable on 11/28/24 by the county inspector and has been boarded up. This accident was posted on ABC30 as well as KMPH Fox News. The driver was arrested and charged with a DUI for driving under the influence by two times the legal limit but was bailed out the same day. We lost everything in our kitchen, every single thing because of her actions as well as our home.

Our apartment manager gave us a new unit on 12/06/24 and we have been trying to rebuild our new home. Our renters insurance does not want to cover any costs and the driver was uninsured.
