Family on verge of losing home due to COVID-19
As a family of 4 with two children under 3 we are struggling due to the effects of COVID-19. I ( The father ) was furloughed in the beginning of March from my assistant manager position at Mr. Tire and immediately filed for unemployment insurance as I am the sole income for the family. Despite filing the day I was furloughed I have not received a single penny as of today ( July 3rd 2020 ). I then received a call last week that the shop is being closed to the financial damage the virus has caused them. To make matters worse a few months prior to the virus my identity was stolen which dropped my credit from the 700s to a 410. Multiple credit cards were opened in my name, hospital bills from states I’ve never been to, cable bills, and dozens of hard inquiries for credit cards from companies I’ve never applied for. This has made getting a loan or credit card impossible and despite dozens of phone calls and countless hours no one has been able to fix the matter for me.
Making a Go-Fund-Me was the last thing we wanted to do but after 3 months with absolutely no income all the bills are piled up, the car broke down yesterday on I-95, running low on diapers & food, electric and other utiles are nearing the shut off point, and if we can’t make ends meet then my fiancé and 2 children will have to move in with her mother and I will be homeless as there is not enough room for all 4 of us & barley enough room for them.
At this point and & every penny would help. I’ve resorted to selling personal items, clothes, and anything that not essential but have run out of things to get rid of. I’ve looked for work with no luck and even if I were to find work I wouldn’t even have the gas to get there & our vehicle is on its last limb without the money to have it fixed. I realize that we are not the only family to fall on hard times and we have tried everything thinkable outside of asking for help
