<div><strong>On July 17, DRUM youth member Kesar and her family lost their apartment in a terrible fire in Richmond Hill, Queens.</strong> Their entire building was deemed uninhabitable and they were given less than a day to gather all their worldly belongings and move into a shelter. Many of their clothes and furniture were destroyed and cannot be used.

<div>Kesar is someone who has actively worked to improve her community. Kesar has been a DRUM youth member since 2019. She went through DRUM's youth summer organizing programming and after that took up a lot of leadership to make sure that Richmond Hill immigrant communities were counted in the 2020 census.

<div>Her family is now homeless and seeking a new place to stay, but they need our support as a community. Kesar's father is also seriously ill and is currently on dialysis treatment. Her sister is in middle school and her mother is the only one who is working.
