Darick R Williamson of Ruston unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018. A memorial service celebrating Darick’s life will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church. The visitation will be held prior to the service at 5:00PM. The memorial service will begin at 6:00PM in the main sanctuary under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

He was born to Donald Williamson and Julie Colvin Williamson Bailey on November 3, 1977 in Ruston, LA.  Darick grew up in Ruston and graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a masters in Educational Psychology. He married Patricia Tomlinson Ballew Williamson on November 22, 2015.

Darick was a devoted husband and father to his wife Trish and sons, Cohen and Addison. They enjoyed playing frisbee golf, basketball, metal detecting and coin collecting together. Darick acquired many interests throughout his life. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, rafting, rock climbing, playing guitar and gardening.

Darick was a beloved employee of the Louisiana Center of the Blind as a Cane Travel Instructor and graduate instructor at the Professional Development and Research Institute at Louisiana Tech University in the College of Education. Through his position he impacted the lives of hundreds of visually impaired students throughout the country. Darick often stated that all he wanted was to leave the world a better place than he found it, and that is why he chose this career.

Darick is survived by his wife Trish and sons Cohen and Addison Ballew; his father Donald Williamson; his mother Julie Bailey and husband Bob Bailey; his twin brother Eric Williamson; his step sister Chanel Bailey Perritt and husband Alex Perritt, nephew Asher Bailey and niece River Perritt; his grandparents Jim and Nan Colvin of Ruston; his aunt Kaye Colvin Rabb and cousin Natalie Rabb; his aunt Robbie Colvin Barrett and cousins Chris Wood and Dylan Barrett; his aunt Robin Nicholson. He is also survived by his mother in law Barbara Church; his sisters in law Bittany Smith and wife Sarah Humble, and Misti Stirling and husband Zach, nephews Harrison and Quinton; his step father in law Gil Smith and wife Brenda.He also leaves behind many loving friends and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Louisiana Center for the Blind.
