Family of Cpt Navas
Donation protected
On Sunday March 8th, Captain Moises Navas gave his life in the fight against terrorism. Captain Navas was a member of the 2nd Marine Raider Batallion out of Camp Lejeune, NC. Aside from being a dedicated MARSOC marine, Captain Navas was a 34yo loving husband, father and dear friend. He was known as Mo to his friends and family. He leaves behind his wife and 4 young children (an 11yo daughter and 3 sons ages 9yo, 7yo and 5yo). Mo was the kind of guy you were always happy to see. He always had a smile on his face, strived to do what was right and volunteered to help others whenever he could. He was a baseball and soccer coach for his own and other children in his community. He and his wife are active in their church. His wife is even a director of a local military spouse bible study group. Mo and his family were one of the 1st ones to welcome me and my family into the MARSOC community when we moved to NC. I remember being touched by how willing they both were to help me settle into a new area and new community.
In the wake of this tragedy, Mo's family will have many decisions to make and obstacles to overcome as they transition to their new normal in a life without their husband, dad and primary income. Aside from our love, support and prayers, what the family could use right now are funds. Funds will allow them the time, flexibility and freedom to make those decisions and transitions on their own timetable and in a manner that allows them to move forward as best they can.
One of the more tangible things we may be able to offer them is an outlet of play for the young kids. The family had been saving for a swing set for their backyard. They were planning to be able to purchase and build it when Mo returned from this deployment. Rather than an empty spot to remind them of their Dad's absence, we would love to help bring some joy to these kids and grant that wish. Anything you feel you can contribute would be welcome, big or small. Thank you for your support.
