Family of 7 forced out of their home
Hey everyone I’m Donna & I’m setting this page up for my sweet sister-in-law and her beautiful family. Nadya and Michael Burton are the parents of 5 small children under the age of 12.
I'm reaching out to the community in an effort to
raise funds to facilitate a forced move out of their home. They have been long time renters, living in a home located in a beautiful subdivision here locally in Inverness. It was perfect for their large family. Their lease was up for renewal in August, so they received a renewal agreement raising the rent by $200 extra per month, and changed the duration
from 12mo to month to month. They agreed to the changes and were told that the document would be emailed for them to sign within 24hrs. The next day, instead of signing the new lease, they were served with a non renewal notice and informed that they have until Sept 30 to vacate the property. Of course this news is devastating to their family and will ultimately cause them to be displaced.
Nadya has been a stay at home mom for the past 11 years, raising their children, while her husband works out of state and overseas with both his civilian job as well as his military job requirements. Over the last year all of their excess funds have gone to medical bills after Nadya suddenly became very ill beginning last fall. Endless amounts of tests, scans, and other out of network expenses have drained their savings. With no savings to speak of and no resources to support a move of this caliber we are reaching out to you to help them in any way you can.
Of course we understand times are tough for so many right now and especially with this storm right around the corner. Her husband has come home to help pack up the house but they have no where to move. They have applied to many rentals but have not been successful and even if they were, they do not have the funds for their big move. Unfortunately due to personal finances they are not able to get approved for any loans or other personal assistance options at this time. Their primary vehicle has also been broke down for a week resulting in having to use a small vehicle not large enough for their entire family. Their children are in the midst of the school year and next week will no longer be able to hop on the school bus instead they are left living out of boxes and with no clue where they will lay their heads to sleep next week.
Everyone could use a helping hand now and again, so I am kindly asking for anything. Whether is a recommendation on a rental home they can get into or simply sending hugs and prayers. We are going to do whatever it takes to get this family back into a place they can call home.
They will also be hosting a yard sale after they finish sorting through their belongings to see if they can raise money for the move + vehicle repairs.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this and we are blessed to have the support! You can rest assured that any donations received will go directly to this cause and we will be sure to share updates with photos/videos as they
navigate through this phase of their journey.
Thank you again for your support.
