Family Narrowly Escapes House Fire Please Help

Donation protected
My co-worker and dear friend lost her home and all contents, narrowly escaping with her husband. I've known Patty for several years but never quite so well as when the East Kentucky Flood happened a year and a half ago killing 45 people in an unprecedented rainfall overnight in the mountains. Patty was able to make it to the small local airport where the US Army National Guard were bringing rescue victims, most of whom were airlifted by black hawk helicopters. Many victims had been stranded in floodwaters for many hours and some even days, several had the clothes swept right off their bodies. Patty helped wash, feed and clothe hundreds of victims in the hours and days after the flood and is still working to help families start over. Everyone who's ever encountered her has benefitted in some way from her compassion and generosity. On January 13th, Patty, husband, Tim and their two children lost their beautiful mountain cabin home in a tragic fire, barely escaping with their lives. Tim's arm was severely burned in the event. Their narrow escape did not even allow them time to retrieve car keys, Tim's eyeglasses, contacts, or cell phone or any personal belongings. This all happened as we approached the coldest temperatures and snowfall of the season. When Patty was 18 years old, she lost her mother to breast cancer and has become an advocate for those affected by the disease. Having gone through a double mastectomy herself, she has first-hand knowledge of the associated struggles. To that end, she sews wonderful, specialized pillows and gowns with special pockets to hold cords and monitors in positions that will make the patient more comfortable after surgery and has sent them all over the country at no charge to the patients. She lost her sewing machine and all supplies in the fire as well. Two days after losing everything, she asked to borrow a sewing machine to complete orders she had received from women undergoing breast cancer surgery. She is not comfortable asking for help, but so many want to help her and I feel very burdened to do what I can to see her family restored to a home. I'm not a person who is comfortable asking for help, either. In fact, this is the first time I've ever done a go fund me page. But I love my sister in Christ, Patty, and her family and must lay aside my own pride to ask if you are able to help in any way, please do so. God bless and keep you and thank you.
