Family lost home in BearFire

On 9/8/2020 my father and stepmom had to run for their lives from the BearFire in Butte County CA. .  They were trapped by fire on the way down the mountain by enterprise bridge and had to take refuge on a boat launch near Oroville lake.  My dad had to drag my 70+ step mom down to the water hoping to out run the fire.  They huddled together all night as the fire passed.   At sunrise they were able to see that while their vehicles were still there in the parkinglot, parts of them had been melted by the flames. My dad then drove up to his property in Feather Falls and saw that the house was completely destroyed.  My parents bought this property 20+ years ago and have dedicated their lives into transforming it to their dream property.  My dad built the deck with his own hands years ago and just this last year disked his entire hillside to make a defensable fire space.  His dog went missing the day they left and hasn't been found since.   My dad has confided in me that he hopes to buy an RV and go back to his property when he is able.  This money will be used to help him and my stepmom survive daily until they are able to put money down on an RV.  Thank you for opening your hearts.
