Family Friend Urgent Situtaion

My close family friend was injured and couldn't work for almost two years. His wife has worked two and three jobs at times to make ends meet. Funding from the state ran out and they fell behind on bills. Their rent increased due to the fires, which made life even more difficult. They are being forced to move out as the rent has become more than two months behind. He recently started a new job, however the property manager has refused to work with them in order to catch up the past two months. The goal is to raise enough money for them to get into a home within three weeks (by Halloween). I am a firm believer that there is great strength in numbers. Every one of us has endured hardship of some kind in our lives. I have never done this before, but I can't stand even the thought of a close friend and his family ending up on the streets.
