Hey everyone, I'm Dustin. My wife, Jennifer and I are kindly asking for donations to help out on behalf of my father in a serious family medical emergency.
My father, Steve Barr, was in a severe accident with a negligent oilfield haul truck 18 wheeler on his way from a monthly doctor's appointment on June 27, 2017. It nearly killed him and destroyed his truck. Accidents from oil field equipment carelessly, wrecklessly operating in the wrong is on the rise in far West Texas and now my father has become collateral damage from such negligence.
He sustained several severe injuries.
The known injuries are:
all were either severely, broken, shattered, and or have had to have surgical repair. He has had nearly 20 operations all at the same time. He is also wrestling with severe psychological trauma from the horrific nature of the accident.
The day of the crash, June 27, 2017, He was airlifted to Odessa Texas and is under tightly controlled medical treatment at Medical Center Hospital. Once he has healed enough, he will transfer and live in a physical therapy unit Healthsouth in Midland/Odessa until he is deemed fit to return home. Projected ETA returning home is end of October 2017 to early November 2017.
Sadly, on an even darker note, my father was also diagnosed in the early stages of blood and bone cancer (multiple myeloma) during his current hospital stay.
We need all the support we can get during this dark time. My father's expenses will be astronomical and he may be potentially tied up in legal battles for years should the trucking, and oilfield service company or their insurances decide to drag their feet or turn this into a fight. I want my father to not have to worry about finances, property taxes, and financial stresses or how to make ends meet in his condition, so I am reaching out to you for help.
My wife Jennifer and I are the only family members living nearby to help my father. We both however work full time jobs and only have one old, undependable vehicle between the two of us, and it's not roadworthy of long trips like visiting my father in the hospital, and for being his caretaker upon him returning home. As far as going and seeing my father in the hospital and helping him when needed once he comes home, I am in a transportation bind, and so is he, since his truck was destroyed and he is severely physically disabled.
Your kind donations will go towards the wellbeing of my father as well as and help my wife and I get a dependable 4x4 vehicle, since my father is in a hospital 150 miles away from us, and his home is in very rural, rough, remote country terrain in the Davis Mountains. As my father's care caretakers, this will greatly help my wife's and my abilities to work our jobs as well as assist my father during his hospital stay, after his return home, and with his essential daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and help with home rehab. We want to be able to do the right thing and see him through. You can help us make that happen for him.
He is hanging in there for his family and he still has several deer and big game hunts left in him...I'd just like to see him back at it again soon. 63 years old is too early for him to hang it all up.
My wife and I launched this campaign on my father's behalf. All of the donations made will be transferred to him for his recovery, ease of disabled living expenses, offsetting financial burden, transportation, and the effort to help him maintain his home and property while healing.
Thank you for your kind donations, and more than anything, thank you for your caring.
