Families Helping Families in Houston

Donation protected
A Texas native has helped put food on the table for needy families in
Fort Bend County and the Houston area for the past 6 years. He started with just six families in 2013, and
has so far, provided meals for nearly 300 families for Thanksgiving. In fact, he doesn’t only provide a
Thanksgiving meal, but enough food for an entire week.

How does he do it? Quincy Collins gets his neighbors to volunteer, and enlists law enforcement from the
Fort Bend Independent School District, to ensure the boxes are safely delivered, reaches out to local
business owners, friends, and families for donations— but he needs more help.
This year, he and his non-profit organization, Families Helping Families in Houston is doubling its goal—
making a big promise to feed nearly 200 families!

As a kid, Quincy would help prepare meals with his grandparents to be delivered to homeless people
living on the streets of downtown Houston. Although his grandparents are no longer with us, he does
this in their legacy.

“Many of us are so fortunate, that we don’t have to worry about what we’re going to eat on Thanksgiving,
but there are people out there, just 2 miles from us, that aren’t even sure if they’ll have a meal that day. We
need to give back to our community,” said Collins, the founder of Families Helping Families.

In order to foot the grocery bill for 200 families, Collins needs to raise $30,000. So far, he has raised just over
half in committed donations. Please help provide food for families in need this Thanksgiving.
