Downtown Falconer Fire Victims

On Sunday, January 14th, nearly an entire year later since the first devastating downtown Falconer fire, another one broke out in the old Falconer Hardware building, which now houses multiple businesses and apartments. As I know it, 11 people have been displaced and set up in temporary housing thanks to the American Red Cross, Falconer Central School and the Village of Falconer.

I'm re-upping this GoFundMe campaign to help those desperately in need, those that just lost so much. The cash raised will be earmarked for daily essentials, whatever these folks need.

What happened:

On Wednesday, March 22nd a devastating fire changed the face of downtown Falconer, NY forever. 8 households and 19 individuals were displaced in arguably the largest residential fire in recent Falconer history. (Photo credit: Michelle Gruber)

Why is this important:

A half block of Falconer, NY history is destroyed forever and the individuals residing there lost everything. I don't live in town anymore but the Village of Falconer is incredibly dear to me and I know others feel that way too. (Photo credit: STARFLIGHT)

If you're from the Falconer, NY area, have ever drove through or spent time there, you know this tract of property is vital to the identity of the village and shelter to those living upstairs.

Consider donating a few dollars to help these people rebuild their lives. They simply need our help.

How is the money dispersed?
Evenly. Each displaced resident will receive an equal share of these funds.

A.S.A.P. - These folks need help now. The funds will be coordinated through the Village office and Falconer Central School. If you feel uncomfortable donating online please mail or drop off a check to FCS:
