Faith-Based Justice Pilgrimage

ELCA Young Adults  and the Peace Not Walls Campaign  are excited to announce six trips for young adults of color who are interested in visiting the Holy Land. I am co-leading one of these trips with my friend and co-conspirator, Mae Helen Jackson.

Our trip will explore issues of faith, justice, and culture. We practice accompaniment, not focusing on serving or otherwise “doing”. We are concerned with engaging people in the region for the purpose of relationship building.

We are leading our trip at the beginning of Lent, exploring where God is in wilderness places, especially in international and stateside issues of race and issues of injustice. We believe that this opportunity could create a base of faith-based justice seekers who are able to connect the dots between domestic and international realities.
 
To make this trip a reality, we need your help to raise the funds to help offset the costs of this trip. Costs include room and board, travel within the Holy Land, and hands-on experiences with people who live in the area. With your donation, prayers, and support, this opportunity can become a reality for up to 16 participants. Your generosity will provide an opportunity for someone to not just follow in Jesus's footsteps in the Holy Land, but to truly ponder what it is to embody someone who act justly, to love mercy, and to walk with God.
