In Memory of David Saunders

David “Lightning” Saunders has been a staple in short track racing for more than 20 years. He dedicated his life to the sport as an inspector at a number of local short tracks including South Boston Speedway and Caraway to name a few, large NASCAR late model stock events like Martinsville, and as the Late Model Stock Tech Director with the CARS Tour. Lightning was passionate about racing, and was caring, respectful and fair to competitors. He served as a mentor to so many people and touched so many lives. He was a loving husband, father, and Paw Paw.

This fund has been set up by a group of Lightning’s fellow racing inspectors to honor his memory and 
raise money for his family as they deal with this devastating loss.
