The Bomb Factory Theatre CIC is a women-led theatre company, created to platform women’s voices and develop emerging women-identifying and non-binary artists.
OUR ETHOS IS SIMPLE. We want to rectify the issue of representation in the industry. We want to make politically engaged and genre-defying new-work. We want to challenge the idea of ‘serious theatre’ by creating experimental and fun work that interrogates conventional, patriarchal structures.
We have a permanent base in The Bomb Factory Art Foundation, where we run workshops and new-writing nights and stage full-length productions. We provide free dramaturgical development to emerging women identifying writers and theatre-makers and the possibility of a staged full-length show that we want to help explore and expand their practice.
Previously The Factory Theatre Workshop, The Bomb Factory Theatre was formed in 2019, by India Harrison Peppe and Philippa Lawford. After a sell-out New-Writing Festival, and a pandemic later, co-artistic Director Merle Wheldon-Posner and Producer Izzy Parriss joined the team, in early 2021.
The arts have suffered immeasurably over the past year. At the Bomb Factory Theatre we need as much financial support as we can possibly get. We have therefore set up this GoFundMe and all proceeds will be put directly into funding the future of our company. We are transparent with our donors and supporters, ensuring that our fundraising is legal, open, honest and respectful.
