Hi,
My name is Jessica. I live in Dallas. I am struggling after a job loss and I'm teetering on the edge of being homeless. I am frantically looking for a job and I'm hoping I'll get an offer soon. I am going on interviews. I am even branching out and trying to stay open minded in case an opportunity comes along for something new I have not tried before. I also make jewelry, but sales have been extremely slow. My rent is unpaid, my phone is shut off. Luckily I was approved for SNAP and I was able to use my SNAP benefits to qualify for a free phone. So at least I have that going for me.
I live in a boarding house. I've been here a while and I like it here. It's a really nice house in a quiet neighborhood. The landlord is trying to remain patient while I'm looking for a job but I worry their patience is running thin. If I get kicked out of here I literally have nowhere to go. Even the shelters in Dallas cost money per day. I don't even have that.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My first priority with any funds received is my rent - getting caught up and hopefully getting ahead, while I continue to look for a job. Any additional funds will be used for work clothes, if needed, and transportation. I do not have a car - I use public transportation. SNAP qualified me for half-priced fares, which I was approved for, but getting around still costs money that I don't have.
Thank you. Have a blessed day.
