#FACEIT - Protect our valuable and vulnerable

Hi everyone,


We decided that it’s about time we #faceit.

 

We bought a sewing machine, learned to use it (which was interesting...) and began making a few face masks for our community and have been carefully packing them and delivering them with care.

 

We hope you decide to support the protection of our community alongside us. Especially as there are so many people putting themselves on the front line for all of us. Remember, they shop where we shop, they walk where we walk.

 

We’re a tiny team in Tewkesbury trying to do our tiny bit.

If you’d like a mask to:

+ Wear to the supermarket 
+ Wear when caring for someone who may be vulnerable 
+ Wear to an essential appointment

We’ve had a few people wishing to offer money for the face masks, however, we do not want to sell them for financial gain.

We understand that you may want to express gratitude as we would feel the same way and so instead of taking payments, we have decided to create this donation page. The £100 would help us to cover the cost of materials. Anything that may exceed our goal will be donated to charity. 

 

Please stay home where possible. Our intent for the masks is purely essential. By no means do we believe they’re a ticket out of the house.

(Please note, as a little  amateur team before this that had barely sewn, we are getting faster by the day but there are only so many we can make! Our current record is 42 in one day and we will be trying every day to beat that!)


We’ve even sent some to people in Spain and the Czech Republic where it is now compulsory to wear one in public.

We don’t know who is and isn’t infectious.
We don’t necessarily know who is vulnerable. 

We have to take advantage of what we do know

We do know that one of the ways the virus spreads is through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. 

We also do know that not everyone who has Covid-19 displays obvious symptoms, meaning you could have it without realising and unknowingly spread it whilst shopping for necessities, for example.

Anything we do not use will still be donated to charities, in fact, we hope a large proportion of what we raise in total
