Face Shields 4 Frontline COVID19 Nurses & Hospital

Donation protected

Latest and final design.  Frameless with adjustable air vent.  No foams, elastic, glue nor tape just laminate pouches and just 10 cents in material cost.  This still can do everything the previous prototypes can but with the least materials(2).  Wear it conventional, upside-down, stow away on head, half way, or roll to fit in your pocket.
Laminated logos for marketing purposes only and will be minimized to 10% of size.

ALL OF US TO BE VIRAL STORY:

#ViralShields4Nurses Mississippi, Louisiana, Eastern and Heartland states. We are rapidly spearheading a national effort aim to create and donate thousands and hopefully millions of homemade health/face shields for front line health care workers.

Community pooling, materials donations, and volunteers needed to make this happen.  For example $10K in combined  either materials and or monetary funding will be enough to create more than 80 thousands face shields at around $0.11 to $0.13 total material cost per shield.  We want to go beyond the 80K if the material donation keeps coming.

One small group of 3 volunteers can make 1000 face shields every 8 hrs, if we can create 1000 small community groups across nation, 1000x1000 equals 1 million can be made each day! That is the very obtainable ultimate dream/goal which could be reached easily if this project goes viral, exactly the reason for #ViralShieldVsViralCorona & #ViralShield names.

So Please SHARE and make this post viral.

THE NEWS:
We made the local KATU news 4/2/20. The design in the news is just conceptual wrt using lamination pouches.  Took 10 prototypes to get to the final design shown here & 4/22 We made Mississippi news.

R&D:
Our prototypes have quickly evolved since the KATU news coverage. We now have one of the best DYI face shield designs, the only one that is frameless making it possibly the lightest design, very durable, comfortable strain free wear, has adjustable air vent to minimize fogging while and can still hug the face like a glove instantly if needed, has the shield up & down feature similarto a welder or motor cycle helmet, but best of all because it is frameless it rolls up to fit in your pocket!

MASS PRODUCTION:
It's meant for mass production, 45 seconds build per person, requiring grade school level assembly skills, 11 cent in material cost, and best of all it uses very common household and office materials that currently we all have laying on our shelves. Laminating pouches or donated transparency sheets for the shield part, elastic or simple rubber bands and optional logo for the finishing touch.

COST: Lamination pouches are prefered which are lighter in weight compared to transparency slides, and cost 7 cents vs 30 cents. The frameless design enable the use of small rubber bands or elastic directly hooking to the ear and doesn't require the big elastic band that goes around the back of the head unlike all other elastic band designs which would put pressure points on the forehead and back of the head. The

VIRAL CONCEPT:
By organizing community groups, businesses, and with the help of the local and national news station, we hope to pool together these everyday materials, utilize a fraction of the millions of potential volunteers who are on unemployment benefits who want to help with the pandemic, and thousands of empty restaurant dining rooms as workspaces.

I.e. We have a huge dine in area that can safely distance 4 volunteers to help build hundreds and thousands of these. Other active/inactive offices, restaurants can do this on their own or pitch in with those menus or materials, such as laminating machines, laminating sheets. Donation of materials from everyone else appreciated. Volunteers can also pickup sanitized materials and instructions to take home to build these. We will try to establish other drop off and pickup locations.  There are thousands of restaurants, bars, cafes, donut shops etc closed and millions of workers on unemployment finding things to do. We can't afford to be on the sidelines.

NOTE1:  The donate tip line goes to GOFUNDME staff not this effort.  We actually need materials more than the money.  This effort meant to pool together the already available material resources from the communities across the country.
NOTE2:  GoFundMe is used partially to raise awareness.  Money is definitely appreciated but materials are what we need.  We rather not handle any money if we could.  Lamination pouches, 1/8" or 3/8" elastic fabric strings, lamination machines, double side clear tapes and legal size paper can be shipped or collected at 323 NW PARK AVE. Portland Oregon.  Future collection or drop off locations in your areas will be posted.

The #Cov19 #Covid19 #CoronaVirus tries to conquer us by dividing us physically and they won that war. They are also very successful at dividing us mentally and spiritually thus far. They are using the "viral" nature of the internet to divide us, pitch us against each other, to disorganized us, sow chaos, hoping that by the time we realized that #UnitedWeStandMentally that it's already too late because most of us won't be standing anymore.  Let get our own #ViralShieldArmy rolling!
