Fabian & Sarah’s Bushfire Relief

Hi I'm Melissa McGroarty from Melbourne. My beloved friends, Fabian Billerwell and Sarah Holt (also a much valued member of Honeybee Toys Malvern store for many years) have suffered a terrible loss with all their possessions being destroyed in their rented home in the Mallacoota bushfires.
Fabian & Sarah (along with other family members) were a few of the 4,000 people that sheltered on the beach from the horrific fires on New Year’s Day. They had not long ago moved to Mallacoota where they planned to build a life centred around their creative work - Sarah is an artist and most of her stunning original artworks were lost, and Fabian a musician lost his studio equipment, along with everything else they owned except for a few items they could fit into their car. For personal reasons they have no insurance.
They both worked in the local community - Fabian as a plasterer and Sarah cleaning houses, to help make ends meet. All their friends would agree that these are two of the most loving, humble and caring people you could have the privilege to know. They are always reaching out to help others. Now it’s our turn to reach out to them. They never ask for anything for themselves, but I (along with many others) have implored them to allow us to set up this page on their behalf so we could help them at this difficult time.
We hope to raise some money to enable them rebuild their lives - to purchase some household items, furniture and clothes along with things they will need to make their living. Where do you begin? A bed and some sheets? Crockery? Shoes and socks? The list is daunting. Recovery will take time and strength. A little help to get them started again would be very much appreciated. All monies donated will be paid directly into Sarah & Fabian's bank account and spent on much necessary household items, clothing, art materials etc - replacing all the things they lost in the fire.
