October 26, 2018 will forever be the day that changed our lives forever. Brownie was at work when he become ill and collapsed. Rushed to the hospital, they finally discovered he had torn his Aortic Value in his heart, suffered a massive stroke and then multiple mini strokes. He was airlifted to Brisbane and Kristine, his partner was told that he had a very small chance of surving the flight. A 1% chance. 27mins later he arrived in Brisbane and was being prepared for major heart life saving surgery. Again Drs didn't paint a great picture with another low % of survival. Diagnosis was also complete paralysis on the left hand side of his body and brain damage on the right side of his brain.
Brownie put on the fight of his life, as the people that know him knew he would. 4 weeks after being in a comma in ICU in Brisbane with many set backs, he finally kept his eyes open. During this time, Kristine had to leave their small Truck washing business in Toowoomba and stay in Brisbane. Brownie was eventually moved to a Toowoomba Hospital then home just before Christmas. He came home walking!
Unfortunately these events have left Brownie with some permanent side effects though. He is no longer able to drive or put 100% into the business that himself and Kristine love. This is causing great stress on them emotionally and financially as the business is their only sorce of income. The cost of ongoing medical bills, medication and specialists is adding up.
Brownie is a extremely well respected man in the Transport industry and is a amazing friend to all that know him. Just would love to relieve them of some of the challenges and pressures that they face.
