Support Morocco's earthquake victims

Hello everyone,

We are Anas & Roel, co-founders of Poufs&Pillows, a company that has been working with a cooperative of artisans in the region of Marrakesh and the Atlas Mountains for over five years. As you have seen in the news, this region was hit by one the deadliest earthquake ever to strike the country. This earthquake, with magnitude of 6.8, and has resulted in over 2600 deaths, thousands of injuries and much damage to houses, schools, public places etc.

We have been in contact with all our dear artisans immediately after hearing the news. Fortunately, they and their families are safe. However, all of their houses and workplace have been severely impacted by the effects of this earthquake. As of today, parts of their home have started to collapse, while others have crumbled into ruins, leaving them without shelter. They are not the only ones in need of support; their entire communities require our assistance.

The situation is urgent, and we are already providing aid. Unfortunately, there are many individuals and families here in dire need of help. That's why we have launched this fundraising campaign to swiftly gather additional funds. Our goal is to provide direct aid to those affected by this devastating event. The funds are personally managed on location by Anas, guaranteeing that they directly benefit the persons in need!

Your contributions will help provide immediate relief to victims, including essential supplies like food, water, and medical aid, and longer-term support such as assistance in rebuilding homes and communities.

We appreciate all the help that we can get, big or small. Morocco is such a beautiful country with beautiful people that deserve nothing less than all the help that we can get.

Hallo allemaal,

Wij zijn Anas & Roel, oprichters van Poufs&Pillows, een bedrijf dat al meer dan vijf jaar samenwerkt met een coöperatie van ambachtslieden in de regio van Marrakech en het Atlasgebergte.

Zoals jullie in het nieuws hebben gezien, is deze regio getroffen door een van de dodelijkste aardbevingen die het land ooit heeft geraakt. Deze aardbeving, met een kracht van 6,8 magnitude op de schaal van Richter, heeft geresulteerd in meer dan 2600 doden, duizenden gewonden en veel schade aan huizen, scholen, openbare plaatsen etc.

We hebben ondertussen contact gehad met al onze ambachtslieden. Zij en hun families zijn gelukkig allemaal veilig. Hun huizen en werkplaatsen zijn echter zwaar getroffen door de gevolgen van deze aardbeving. Bij sommigen zijn delen van het huis uit elkaar gevallen, bij anderen zijn huizen tot volledige ruïnes vervallen. Hierdoor hebben zij op dit moment geen onderdak meer. En niet alleen zij hebben hulp nodig. Hun gehele gemeenschappen hebben onze hulp heel hard nodig. Het is dringend. We zijn op het moment al bezig met de hulpverlening, maar omdat de omvang zo groot is kunnen wij dit niet alleen. Daarom starten we deze inzamelingsactie om zo extra geld in te zamelen. Het geld wordt persoonlijk door Anas op locatie ingezet en komt daardoor direct ten goede aan de juiste personen!

Deze campagne is bedoeld om directe hulp te bieden aan de getroffenen van deze verwoestende gebeurtenis. Jouw bijdragen zullen helpen om hulp te bieden aan de slachtoffers, met inbegrip van essentiële benodigdheden zoals voedsel, water en medische hulp, en steun op de langere termijn, zoals hulp bij de wederopbouw van huizen en gemeenschappen.

We waarderen alle hulp die we kunnen krijgen, groot of klein. Marokko is zo'n prachtig land met prachtige mensen die niets minder verdienen dan alle hulp die we kunnen krijgen.
