Grace is amazing. She continued her education, worked several jobs, and earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification. She worked double shifts and took extra shifts when they were offered. What makes Grace amazing is her compassion, her care for other people. She is the kindest person I have ever known.
She fell in love and married and was blessed with twins. A year and a half ago, her husband went to Africa to work in his uncle's NGO in South Sudan. Grace was challenged with both work and care for her preschool children on her own. She and the kids lived with a cousin and her family until an affordable apartment became available - an 11 month wait.
COVID-19 arrived and preschool closed. Grace's savings were depleted and she couldn't afford the monthly subsidized rent. Her car needs 4 new tires before winter arrives as well as $600 worth of work so she can get to work. As a CNA working in an assisted living facility, she is an essential worker. The people that Grace cares for are fortunate to have such a empathetic caregiver
Between work and helping her kids with school online, Grace often got 3 -4 hours of sleep a night. Her husband recently arrived from Africa; after quarantine, he can now be with his children while his wife works. Please join me in supporting this young immigrant family and help strengthen our community.
