This is Alex (Alexis) Vazquez. I am Jonathan Vazquez's younger brother. It is with great sadness that I have to say that Jonathan Vazquez has passed away. On September 26th 2014 my family was notified by the Fredericksburg Police Department that a body was found and that it was likely my brother. It was not until Monday September 30th 2014 that a Richmond Police Department detective contacted me and informed me that they had confirmed it was indeed my brother.
This news has struck a hard blow to our family, as well as those who were able to know Jon. It has been a devistating time for all, and I know we all will have a hole in our heart, missing Jonathan.
Jonathan may be gone, but he has affected more lives than he could have ever known. All that knew Jonathan have positive stories to tell, and it is those stories we must hold on to in this difficult time.
My mother, Olga (Tasha) Vazquez has decided on having a memorial service for Jonathan on October 12th, 2014. Unfortunately, the costs involved with this proccess are beyond what our family can offord financially. I ask that those who knew Jonathan would please help us carry a portion of this burden, by donating whatever they can to help our family out. Even if you can only afford to donate as little as $10, every bit will help. Without help from extended family and friends Jonathan will not be able to have his remains taken care of properly, and that is something that we all do not want to happen.
My family greatly appreciates all the people wishing us well in this difficult time. Jonathan was a reat man, touched many lives, and we want to make sure he is taken care of and recieves a proper memorial service.
