Megan's back surgery

About two years ago, Megan started having consistant pain in her back. She went to the doctor who told her it was just arthritis. Decompression Therapy was started a couple months later for about 4 months. This didn't work either, and the pain just continued to get worse. She visited the Texas Back Institute where an MRI was done, proved she had Disc Degenerative Disease, with both L4 and L5 discs having limited fluid left in them. There is also a severe case of Spinal Stenosis. This may all sound like nonsense medical terms, but basically she is in constant, and sometimes debilitating pain.

A doctor at the Texas Back Institute has found a solution for her to have her L4 disc replaced and the S1-L5 bones fused together with a bone from her hip. It is a minimally invasive surgery with a recovery time of 2 weeks.
Recently, her insurance has been switched to a different company that doesn't cover her Doctor's fee of 13,500 dollars. They want at least half before they will do the surgery in December, and if half is not raised there will be no surgery.

Megan is a wonderful teacher, a full-time graduate student, and a single mom to a 6 yr old daughter. There isn't a lot of room in that to raise money for a surgery she desperately needs. As her mother, I am asking anyone and everyone to help her out financially if at all possible to help Megan regain her life back. The active, outdoors life, she used to have before this back pain has caused her to be so limited in life. Thank you in advance for any bit of help
