Ric's Battle against Cancer

Hi everyone, My name is Ronna Sigua, sister of Ricamilo "Ric" Sigua.

In September 20, 2013, Everyone thought Ric had an infection or dengue fever. But it wasn't Dengue Fever nor Typhoid Fever, it was Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a random cancer, causing his lymphnodes to swell.

Battling cancer is now what my brother and my family and those who we love do every minute of every day.

Chemotherapy was started after being diagnosed. Everything was going well, he started to regain his strength and was able to finish the 10 sessions. He remains positive that he will fight Cancer and will be able to live his normal life.

He went to do another diagnostic test which is Abdominal CT Scan to check the swollen lymph nodes.
Finally, a moment of truth, the results indicated that there are still swollen lymphnodes and some are in his vital organs.

The results were a shock to him. The Oncologist managed to lay all of his options on what to do next.

We started Radiation therapy as soon as he was cleared. The doctor said he will undergo 30 days straight of radiation therapy.

He went back and forth to the hospital with my mom to continue his treatment. Days passed and we started to notice that the swollen lymph nodes in his neck are no longer visible. The treatment was now focused on his abdomen where the most of his lymphnodes are.
This is where the problem started. Right after a few sessions, his body started to give up. All of his blood levels were down, and he needed injection for them to go up in order to resume the radiation therapy.

Recently, his body can no longer handle the therapy. He needed blood, but not the regular Blood component. He needs a specific donor and a specific component of the blood to live.

He needs Leukoreduced and Plateletphresis.

He is currently admitted in the Hospital in the Philippines. Hospitalization in the Philippines is not free nor is Health Insurance; so basically most if not all of the bills are paid in cold cash. Keeping up with the invoices has burdened our family deeply.

I would like to ask for your donations to help keep my brother alive and strong. There are NO donations to small, even the smallest amount would help battle the fight against cancer. Ric Sigua is 27 years old, a nurse with a high spirit struggling for his life to be extended.

Thank you for your kindness and prayers.
