Medical & Moving Expenses

Hello, My Name is Kenya Robinson. I am a 28 year old single mom of one living in Chicago Illinois. I’m also a five star rated Lyft driver. On Saturday August 20th at 2AM while Driving for Lyft, My vehicle (Displaying multiple Lyft stickers and airport decals) was targeted and an unknown car started to follow me. I attempted to accelerate to get away at which point the vehicle began firing multiple shots / at my car. There was at least 15 gunshots. I continued to accelerate and they continued to fire. I was hit in my lower back with a 45 cal round. I continued to drive and call 911 until I seen a patrol car. At which point I was removed from my car rushed to the hospital and received emergency surgery. The bullet traveled and got stuck in my stomach. Although they were eventually able to remove it. This incident has left me in a terrible situation. And in utter SHOCK. And unable to work. I currently have a gunshot wound to my back a exit wound in my stomach bruised ribs and little to no feeling in my left leg . I’m traumatized and injured so badly that I’m Mentally or Physically unable to do Lyft Ever Again.

Due to Prior incidents with unruly passengers I was soon going to stop Lyft but I was working to try to finance my move. I was trying to ride share to relocate myself and my child to a safer state and I was very close to my move in date. I am now unable to fully move, eat, care for myself or my child or even think about moving because of being targeted shot like a animal vehicle damaged w multiple bullet holes, leaving me badly injured and completely traumatized. I appreciate your time to read my story please help in any way you can even if it’s just a share. To my fellow Uber and Lyft drivers PLEASE be careful Please Be Aware and please if you don’t have to please don’t drive at night in Chicago. It is very dangerous we are being targeted.
