Mission Trip to Sierra Leone

In April 2018, I have the opportunity to join other pastors and mission leaders in the United Methodist Church on a mission trip to the Child Rescue Center and Mercy Hospital in Bo, Sierra Leone.
The Child Rescue Center serves 500 vulnerable children and their families with opportunities for education, health care, nutrition, and spiritual mentoring. This non-profit organization helps children escape the challenging cycle of poverty and develop to their full potential. The Mercy Hospital provides compassionate care to the people of Bo, regardless of their ability to pay for treatment. They offer health care services to over 10,000 patients each year.
I currently serve as the associate pastor at First United Methodist Church of Colleyville, and our church has partnered with Child Rescue Center and Mercy Hospital for several years.
This mission trip team is known as a "development team." On this trip, we will continue to build relationships with the staff and clients at the CRC and Mercy Hospital to discover how we can partner with them more to transform even more children's lives. We will visit the Child Rescue Center, Mercy Hospital, and affiliated school to learn more about the programs and share insights with our congregations to raise awareness and support. We will also spend time assisting with health screenings for children and pregnant women, so they can get the nutritional and health care they need.
The funds raised through this GoFundMe account will cover the following costs: transportation, lodging, meals, necessary vaccinations, and mission supplies.
