Surgery for Felix Emergency veterinarian fund
Archway Adventures helps kittens and cat families in need.
Felix arrived May 30th along with eight other kittens and 2 Momma cats from a hoarding situation.
He and 6 other kittens were in the frame of a couch, with at least 3 mommas taking turns caring for them and stealing them. The Mommas were all scratched up from fighting and two of the babies had only partial tails. Either as a result of the feuding or a genetic trait. Felix is one of these cats.
At 3 months he was neutered and about to be adopted when disaster struck. He began throwing up, getting skinny, ceased playing and his belly felt very weird, like you could feel his intestines.
Monday came and we sought medical attention. The prognosis, very grim, without surgery to correct either a blockage or twist, he will not survive, become very sick and suffer terribly.
Tuesday saw him at another vet for second opinion. Sadly, basically the same outcome.
Currently we are treating with medication, hoping against hope a miracle will happen.
He is the sweetest, kitten full of love and potential. I just could not put him down without trying to raise the surgery fees.
His biggest issue is once he begins his purr motor, it is very hard to shut it off as both vet places can attest. Hard to listen to his heart with all the purring going on.
