Help the Hero

Hi my name is Tavi Collins and I am fundraising for my husband Jason Collins.

On the evening of Friday July 1st, my husband observed a woman being beaten and tried to help. He intervened and got the woman to safety, however the man who was beating her pulled a gun and fired several rounds at my husband. My husband was hit by one of the shots. He was transported to a local trauma center and treated for a gunshot wound to his arm and shoulder. Thankfully he is alive.

If you know our story you know my husband is a hero. He is a retired police officer that has saved many lives in his career and is a 5 time medal of valor recipient. We are proud of him for his actions and know he once again saved the life of a stranger.

We are unsure of what all he will need in recovery, but I want to make sure we do not have any financial burden from this incident.
