As you know, hurricane Harvey devastated Houston. Many lost everything they owned while others were very blessed and lost nothing. Unfortunately my family was impacted pretty heavily. At 2 AM Sunday morning we were evacuated from our apartment. The water had risen 2 feet in 4 hours and went from being puddles in the street to being ankle deep at my door. After the storm stopped, I returned to my apartment to find it underwater. I live on Barker Cypress just north of interstate 10. While walking to my apartment, there were points where I was neck deep in water. I had to take a boat back, as the current had exhausted me. The storm has been over for days, but my apartment is still flooded on the entire first floor. The proceeds from my fund raiser will go towards replacing the furniture in my living room (basics like couch or chair) my children's bedroom furniture was all ruined and trying to acquire reliable transportation. Both of my vehicles were totaled by the storm and I only had liability insurance. If you or a loved one was affected by Harvey, my heart goes out to you. If you feel compelled to donate, please know that me and my family will be eternally grateful for the help. Thank you for reading my story and thank you for your prayers, donations and support.
