Amanda Monsey Medical Fund

Amanda Monsey has been hospitalized at UMC in Lubbock almost 200 miles away from home since November 21, 2017. She is the primary income for the family working as a RN Casemanager. She has always gone above and beyond helping others in their time of need. She has a servants heart and a healers hands. With Amanda being who she is, she has always put her husband, children and others in front of her own health needs. For a couple of months she has had what she felt was just gallbladder attacks. On Monday night the 20th of November she finally had enough and took herself to the ER. That is when she soon discovered it was more than just gallbladder. Due to Abilene not having a GI specialist that could care for her she was transported by ambulance to UMC in Lubbock. Once there she took a turn for the worse and ended up on a ventilator in ICU. She has recently been moved to a step down unit but continues to face a number of complications. Some include pancrities, severe infection, terrible pain, pleural effusion, cyst on pancreas which is causing bile to leak with additional complications. Everyday seems to be a rollercoaster with multiple changes a day. She and her team of surgeons visit multiple times a day and discuss the next plan of action. As of right now we know that this is going to be a long road ahead. She is still looking at a minimum of another week in the hospital, going home with home health services, return in 3 weeks to have additional surgeries, then time to heal from those.
