First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to visit this page. If you don't know Edison personally, he is a loving husband and devoted father. Edison was born in Ecuador and moved to New York, in his early teens. After high school, Edison joined the US Navy. While serving, he met Tracye, whom he would eventually wed. Trayce and Edison have three beautiful girls, Katie, Jenny and Adison. He has a great sense of humor and is one of those special people that would do anything for anyone! The thing that I admire the most about Edison, is that he is always smiling. He has one of those infectious smiles/laughs and you can really tell he enjoys the company he keeps.
On the evening of Friday, March 18th, Edison started feeling ill. Like most of us, he shrugged off the symptoms and tried to sleep it off. The next morning, he awoke and was still not feeling well, nauseous, with impaired vision and a terrible headache. Tracye and Edison decided that it would be best to visit the St. Vincent ER.
After being admitted, the doctors started running tests. It was identified that Edison had a stroke. He was then moved to the St. Vincent Nero-ICU, where he spent the next week. In the first couple of days, there were a few setbacks, but by Tuesday, things appeared to be turning around. Edison, with Tracye and family at his side, started to see some positive steps forward. He started talking more, moving more and even tried his hand as an escape artist! On Friday, March 25, he was moved to a non-ICU room, within the Neuro wing, at St. Vincent. He continues to make small improvements each day, but still has a very long way to go. His next move will be to a rehab hospital, where he will undergo extensive Occupational, Speech, Vision and Physical therapy.
