Hi, I’m Charlie Gadoury, and most of you know I have been battling for my life for the last two years.
In 2013 I was diagnosed with colon cancer and after a rough time of treatment and the Grace of God we have put that one to rest. Then on Jan. 1st 2014 I had an accident that broke my back and pelvis in three places; again, a long and painful recovery. I am now fighting my third and most debilitating battle.
In mid 2014 I was diagnosed with ALL-leukemia and have had one very difficult series of chemo treatments in Orlando, Florida. The next stage of this saga and most likely the hardest battle I will face is the bone marrow transplant. The hospital is two and a half hours away from my friends and family and I will be there for three weeks. During this time the doctors kill all my white blood cells, then I will receive bone marrow from a family member. Following the transplant I will be required to stay in Orlando for up to four months. As you can imagine this is very expensive; housing, medication, gas, food, and 24 hour care, none of which is paid for by my insurance. I have worked sporadically the last two years and my wonderful wife has been very supportive but will need to continue to manage her business in order to pay our normal living expenses.
